I'm happy to offer you an overview of the new version of X-Cart 5 - version 5.2.9. This is not a major release in its traditional understanding - there's no switch to the next branch, but from the point of view of changes amount it's a major update and a huge step forward.

Greetings to the users of X-Cart 4 Classic! We're happy to roll out a new version: 4.7.3! This is a planned release with a new integration aboard, as well as a number of minor improvements and fixes.
Check this article to learn more about the new release before the upgrade becomes available to all merchants: starting from 5.2.4 we implemented a waves-based upgrade availability scheme, with the dev stores receiving the upgrades first.
Since the previous release, we had little time to implement new features: while the X-Cart 4 Management was defining the roadmap and selecting what features to include into the nearest update, the architects were fixing the bugs from the issue tracker - this is what they're doing regularly. But detecting a security vulnerability changed the plans and we took decision to release a new version with all the ready fixes aboard, with the primary reason being to provide a secure version to you.
We're rolling out a new version of X-Cart today. And together with the release of a new version, we're announcing the change of how and when the upgrades will be available for the store owners. It has a single purpose - by implementing several "waves", we're ensuring the deeper testing of the upgrade process.
